Sunday, May 10, is the day: The Maypole will be traditionally erected on the festival grounds of Stiegl-Brauwelt. Culinary highlights and entertainment for the whole family await you.
The magnificent Stiegl-Noriker horses, which will bring the maypole to the grounds, along with the Maxglan traditional music band, the Festungs-Prangerstutzen marksmen, and the historic Bindertanzgruppe Salzburg will provide the perfect entertainment. Around 2 p.m., the cry of “Baum steht!” will ring out again as the erectors hoist the approximately 30-meter-tall symbol of fertility into an upright position. After the traditional tapping of the keg, both strong climbers and children can test their skills in the Maypole climb.
The program offers fun and entertainment for all ages. In the atmospheric beer garden and festival tent, guests are treated to classic Stiegl beers as well as regional delicacies, grilled chicken, and hearty dishes made from grilled organic beef. The beef specialties come from the organic farm at the Stiegl-Gut Wildshut. For anyone who would like to learn more about the world of beer, a visit to the Stiegl Museum is highly recommended; it also offers fascinating insights into the history of the Stiegl Brewery.
